Custom iPhone apps
We opined in March that the real estate revolution was coming out of Boston, and the city hasn’t disappointed. To answer the needs of Realtors seeking to launch their own mobile apps, the DreamingCode.com team in Boston is launching customized iPhone and iPad apps for Realtors. The apps involve a setup fee and a monthly cost for hosting and support.
Clients can be given the free app that allows them to search the MLS through their specific Realtor’s app so that all pages are branded to the agent. Realtors can upload a customized logo, change the color scheme of the app, the app uses GPS so consumers can see surrounding listings, and DreamingCode handles the approval process through Apple so that the agent’s app is listed in the iTunes catalog.
Although the features are limited compared to something as robust as the mobile Realtor.com, Zillow or Trulia consumer app, for agents looking to own the real estate search process as much as possible, this is one way to do it. The agent apps we’ve seen look similar to each other, but it seems like the chances of a consumer downloading multiple apps for multiple agents is slim, we suspect that the number one way consumers will come in contact with the app is agents promoting their app to their clients and through their website.

I have a custom search app. It comes standard as part of my IDX (Diverse Soultions). It's nifty but it isn't a tool I'd pay extra or monthly for.
