The 3DCone is simple to use and easy to attach to your iPhone. Once you’ve snapped it on and you’ve launched the app, you can immediately start filming in 3D. The 3DCone consists of a mirror that captures pictures or videos from multiple angles, which makes the 3D effect. What sets it apart from other products is that you don’t have to manually take multiple pictures from different angles. It does all the work for you, which is perfect if you want to capture something or someone active and in constant motion.
They’re looking to raise at least $55,000 by September 6, 2012, with the eventual hope to get through manufacturing, product testing, production, quality checks, and shipping the products by March of 2013. The next step for the company is the need for additional funding, and that’s why they’re reaching out on Kickstarter.com, which is “the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects,” wherein projects are posted to the site and anyone with a credit card can pledge money to fund the projects, but the twist is that a project must reach its funding goal before time runs out or no money changes hands because “creators aren’t expected to develop their project without necessary funds, and it allows anyone to test concepts without risk.” The site also allows project creators to keep 100 percent ownership over their work and offer products and incentives in return for pledges.
