5 ways to attract sales this Small Business Saturday

Facebook for (small) Business

November 27 marks Black Friday, but Amazon has already been offering special deals on their website. Holiday shopping is here. This year is the sixth annual Small Business Saturday, set to happen on November 28. Now is the time to be gearing up your social media to make the most of this day. Facebook for Business made these recommendations for small businesses to take advantage of shoppers who will be looking for your services and products.

Use the buttons!

1. Use the call-to-action buttons. Many businesses don’t convert followers to sales because they forget to ask their customers to do something. Choose the right option for your business and promotion.

Know your demographics!

2. Local Insights is a new feature through Facebook. Learn more about the demographics and trends of your nearby users. With Local Insights, you can also hone in on the best times of day to reach your customers.

Use all of your tools!

3. Local awareness ads can direct customers to your location. Make sure you are using all the features of social media to get people to your business.

Use page messaging!

4. Page messaging lets you answer questions from customers. People want information and they may not look around for it. When they have questions, social media is a quick way to get answers, but your page needs to allow it.

Answers all the Q’s!

5. Set up templates for FAQs.

Get your social media on

I would also add that you should have a staff member who is watching your social media accounts if you are directing traffic to your store. Someone should check in with your page regularly on Small Business Saturday. Post about specials so that your customers know why they should stop by.

Larger businesses have been announcing their sales for weeks, so that people know where they should shop. You can do the same for your customers on social media. Let them know which products will be discounted. Take advantage of social media and Small Business Saturday to get a jump start on the holiday shopping season.
