7 inspirational quotes on leadership to motivate you

Leadership isn’t easy, but someone’s got to do it!

Finding a good leader is hard; being one is even harder. The ability to successfully implement ideas and procedures; motivate others to believe in themselves, their ideas, and your leadership; as well as, maintain a fine line of open communication, but still enforce laws, does not necessarily make the role of “leader” everyone’s forte. Some people say that leadership is innate. Some say that it is learned. If you search on Google for leadership, you will find countless quotes, books, guides, and videos on how to be a better leader.

But sometimes, all that is needed is a little inspiration to be a better leader, or refocus your leadership vision. Here are seven great leadership quotes to inspire:

“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it’s amazing what they can accomplish.” –Sam Walton

“A leader is a dealer in hope.” –Napoleon Bonaparte

“The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.” —Jim Rohn

“Great leaders are almost always great simplifiers, who can cut through argument, debate, and doubt to offer a solution everybody can understand.” —General Colin Powell

“I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure, which is: Try to please everybody.” —Herbert Swope

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” —John Quincy Adams

Whether you are a leader or a follower, keep in mind that neither job is without its stresses, frustrations, and rewards. Being a good role model, a good example for your followers, as well as, the followers of others is a good place to start. Leadership is not easy, but the rewards are well worth the frustrations.
