Are News feeds in your Yahoo! reader frozen in time? Answers!

A very cool AG reader brought it to our attention this week that our AG RSS News Feeds were no longer updating in MyYahoo! and stuck in time around four months ago. Scratching our head we dove into the the problem wondering what in the world we did four months ago that would have killed our feeds to Yahoo!

Scouring the WordPress world online, we only found a few problems that resembled the ones we were having, and noting that Yahoo! and Yahoo! partner feeds were updating fine, obviously we smelled a conspiracy on the part of Yahoo! to suppress the little dudes, but damn, all smoke and no fire. From searching, we found others with the issue simply giving up and moving over to Google Readers not having received any resolve from Yahoo! customer care. Their position was it was a possible glitch there wasn’t a fix for right away.

Unsatisfied, and frustrated having explored every plugin, resubmitting feeds, updating our Yahoo! feeds and profiles with no luck, it occurred to me that the problem probably lies in the types of feed Yahoo! needs and we were right.

So, the fix for us and our readers is simple (although a conspiracy was more fun) in that all we need to do is isolate the feed Yahoo! can read, and presto, our feeds updated! Our standard feed for all is https://agentgenius.com/feed and it works 99.9 percent of the time, but not at Yahoo! Yahoo! much prefers https://agentgenius.com/?feed=rss . Neat.

We found our feed answers here at Codex should you need to test some variants or want to learn more on RSS feeds.
