By November of 2009, we had grown quite a bit. One of our core goals has always been to put money back into local businesses because the economy hasn’t been kind to all local venues.
In that spirit, we began hosting BASHH at the Gingerman, a really cool pub with a great outdoor patio, darts and amazing beer. Eventually, our group got so big that we couldn’t fit inside the venue any more, but while we were only 200 people or so, it was the perfect spot!
Back then, we still weren’t called BASHH and we were experimenting with hashtags to use on Twitter to promote the event. That month, we tried “#TwitterHH” which performed well but we felt it was too long and excluded people not on Twitter.
