Adios, Blog Rush
BlogRush.com was an idea hatched by founder John Reese at 4AM and fully developed at a rapid pace. Many real estate blogs adopted the free service which is a widget placed on a sidebar that features articles by others in your category that have opted in. BlogRush survived less than a year and experienced great criticism from the public ranging from style complaints to finger-pointing, calling it a Ponzi scheme which wasn’t helped by Reese’s cavalier, gritty attitude.
According to the BlogRush landing page: BlogRush didn’t grow without its fair share of problems — from security issues to abusive users trying to ‘game’ the system to much lower click-rates than expected. We also had some problems with trying to fairly control the quality of the network, and in the process made many mistakes in deciding what blogs should stay or go. All of these issues, ultimately, limited the service’s full potential.
