Funny. I work in coffee shops and have been for years. I have a business card taped onto the laptop so people can see my name when they walk by. I have gotten listings because of it too.

You can have images, logos laser etched onto your laptop too:

    Tres chic!

Personally, I avoid taking my laptop into public spaces at all costs. Nothing says unprofessional like a 5 year old hand-me-down laptop adorned with all manner of band stickers and sounds like a malfunctioning jet engine. If I work on the go I just borrow a laptop from our office – or try (and fail) to do all the work I can from my phone.

    Oh! Excellent suggestions. Thanks!

Chris – Do like people do with their bumpers. Stick over them. With all the noise in coffee shops nobody will hear that rumbling.

Mariana – You crack me up. I needed that. I was looking at moo.com to order business cards and saw stickers – I thought about ordering some of those to make my laptop look like the back of an old VW bus.

I have ABSOLUTELY no problem whipping out my Lenovo X60 and get some work done. I will definately consider attaching a business car to mine also.

What gets people talking to me is that I have a convertable tablet. Many times when browsing lisitngs I will use tablet mode and that has started a few conversations.

I put a Apple Sticker on the corner of my Dell 700m and everyone thinks I have a Mac……………LOL The big fat Dell badge in in the center of the cover.

Mariana – God I love innuendos. I’m going to make it psychedelic.

Matt – Let me know how it goes. I’ll going to do it too.

Ted – Let that sense of humor shine!
