Leveraging app as lead generation tool
Last summer, AGBeat introduced you to House Hunter, an iPhone app built to streamline real estate search for consumers on the go. Today, the company has announced “My Agent,” which offers branded mobile apps for Realtors to provide to consumers, sharing the same functionality as the House Hunter app but with a dedicated Welcome Page and Agent Contact page that are fully customizable by agents.
The company says that consumers that come to their page to learn about the House Hunter app are directed to find an agent in their area that will give them the code for the “My Agent” app, better helping consumers visiting their site to connect with local agents.
House Hunters was developed by Cre8tiveApps.com CEO Jay Taylor based on his own buying experience, and the company set out to develop a tool that would help the agent in addition to their existing consumer app, namely due to overwhelming demand from agents they met in the field that wanted a brandable app.
The Agent Welcome Page features a picture of the agent, their name, title and brokerage, followed by a personalized welcome message. The agent can program this to say anything they want it to say (up to 100 characters) and they can have up to three different messages that rotate randomly each time the app is opened. Below the welcome page is the agent’s phone, cell, fax, email and website.
The share page was reworked to not only be branded, but the contact information of the agent who is connected with the consumer through the app displayed on the share page so that with one click, the user can call or text the agent, or connect through email, Facebook, IM or the agent’s website.
Like the House Hunter app, clients can send their agents their prioritized feature list (wants/needs) as well as the scores they have applied to houses they have seen so far.
Taylor tells AGBeat, “So, we think the app has a lot of marketing potential for agents as they can give this out at Open Houses, put it on Property Flyers, etc. It’s a great way to give out a valuable iPhone app to kick off a relationship with clients. We also think there is value in adding efficiency and reducing stress when going though the home selection process.”
The company hopes to have an Android version of their apps released before the summer. Below is a video demonstration of the My Agent app:
