Call Recorder: Record your FaceTime and Skype video calls

Call Recorder solves a major pain point

How many times have you been on a FaceTime call and wished you could record it? From business conference calls to personal calls, the ability to record both sides of the call simultaneously can come in handy. If you frequently transfer calls from your iPhone to your Mac, you can still use the Call Recorder.

The recording can be useful to take notes and make suggestions from business calls. Personal calls can be saved and shared with other family members so everyone can be included. All recordings are saved as Quicktime files, so they are ready to upload to YouTube. For instructors, podcasters, and iTunes users, you can also convert the files to mp3.

Getting set up, getting started

Installation of Call Recorder is pretty straight forward: just download the installer from the website and run it like you would any other Mac software installer. Once it’s up and running, Call Recorder automatically launches when you run FaceTime, however there are several customization options, but they are not necessary to run the program. After you have recorded your call, Call Recorder also offers editing tools so that you can split the track from your call. This allows you to separate one side of the conversation from the other.

If you prefer Skype over FaceTime, there’s a recording option for that as well. It works in the same manner as the FaceTime version. Both versions come with a free-trial, so you can try it before you commit to it. If you frequently use FaceTime or Skype, this is a pretty good tool to have in your toolbox, even if you just use it for recording calls between friends or family.

Friendly legal reminder: regardless of the purpose for recording your phone calls, please make sure they are legal. If in doubt, please check your state and company’s policies regarding the matter. Better overly safe than sorry.
