Sending resumes into the infinite black hole
If you’re anything like me (and in this case, I sincerely hope you are not), you have sent out countless resumes before, to no avail. Every time you click “send,” you hold your breath and say a quick prayer to the employment gods that fortune might one day smile upon you. After a few weeks, that breath transforms into a heavy sigh as you yet again hit the books, back to square one after having your hopes toyed with like Lincoln Logs.
Sure, you might not be experienced enough. And sure, that misdemeanor on your record might raise a red flag or two. But odds are that your resume just isn’t up to snuff. Luckily for you, me, and everyone else who has had a tough time landing a legitimate gig, there is Creddle.
Creddle wants to help propel your career
This nifty program helps you craft the perfect resume. No in-your-face gifs like you might expect, but unmatched professionalism from header to footer. You can change colors, add and subtract information in certain fields, and import information from LinkedIn.
According to some of the comments I read online about Creddle, if you really want a job, you should handcraft a custom resume the old-fashioned way. I agree that there’s something honest about tailoring your application to suit specific opportunities, but nothing about Creddle says you can’t do that. Others have maintained that resumes aren’t all that important, but I’d beg to differ. At least, I sincerely hope that it’s my resume that is lacking an impressive appeal, and not my character. Yeesh.
Despite naysayers…
Despite the contentions of naysayers, I really think that all Creddle is trying to do is help your boring resume pop a bit more. If a little more professionalism is all you need to boost you into the group of applicants who receive a response, then a tool like Creddle could save your tail.
I think I’m going to make a sample resume now and see how it goes. If I start working for Comedy Central next week, I’ll make sure to send out a “nice to know ya” email to all of you.
