Does My Social Media Butt Look Big? Be Honest…

Symmetry

It’s attractive and sexy — Symmetry.

Symmetry in the ways and means of Business, the science and art of Home-Economics and in the Discovery Of and The Collision With, listing and selling opportunities is profitable, beautiful and ideal.

In the pursuit of the profitable, the beautiful and the ideal, humans generally trend towards Over-Kill.  At least that’s what I’ve observed, and of course, that’s what I seem to routinely do.

What does symmetry look like in the business of attracting, discovering and colliding with listing and selling opportunities?

How We Attract, Discover and Collide With Opportunity

Before the Internet, how we attracted, discovered and collided with prospective clients was different.  So was how we chased, communicated and connected.   Now it’s called “Old School” and some if it doesn’t work anymore.  We had to direct mail, buy print ads, knock on doors, call on expired listings, visit FSBOs, ask for referrals, hand out business cards, hold open houses and rotary dial.  We had no choice.  If you wanted to succeed, this is what you did. We had no Internet and no cell service, imagine life without it?

Once an opportunity presented itself, you won or lost based on your social skills, presentation skills, listening skills, problem solving, leadership, trustworthiness, your perceived experience, expertise and ability to solve their problems.  It’s exactly the same today as it was in 1978.  It doesn’t matter how many opportunities you discover or collide with, if your IRL soft skills suck, you’ll go broke.

Today we have choices.  Reinvented are the ways we can discover and collide with opportunities.  Now we have the Internet and cell service and we know many ways to point and shoot today’s technology.

What I’m wondering is, am I guilty of Over-Killing it with technologically.  Specifically, is my Social Media Butt too big?

What I want is an attractively symmetrical blend of Social Media Engagement and In-Person and On-Purpose Social Engagement.  I want symmetry.

I’m asking about the size of my Social Media Butt because, recently, or so it seems to me, I hear voices. Whispers and shouts. Maybe you hear them too.  I hear voiced concerns about the financial health risks of smoking too much Social-Media-Hopeium. There are whispers and shouts about who and what a GURU is?   And, what happens, if anything, when you guzzle the Cool(kids)-Aid.

What I Wonder Is…

Is my Social-Media-Butt too big?  Be honest, you won’t hurt my feeling;-)

If another friend asked you, about the size of theirs, would you tell them?

If a friend confided, your butt was BIG, would you believe it and lose social-media weight, buy some Social-Media Spanx, or ignore them?

What if  your friend said your social-media butt was flat or flabby, would you gain weight and tone-up?

How do you or I, or them, know when Big is Too Big?  Or flat?  Or flabby?   Some people love Big Social-Media Butts!  And some, just like big butts.  Some don’t have any idea what I’m talking about?

These are the questions I ask.
