We all know driving and using our phones can lead to accidents, but nearly all of us are guilty of texting from the car at least once. And what about using your phone’s navigation? Sure, it is extremely useful, but even when you mount it to the car, you still have to take your eyes off the road to adjust for traffic, construction, and other routing issues.
Now, you can use your apps without taking your eyes off the road; driving just got a whole lot cooler with a new innovation from Navdy.
Navdy is a head-up display (HUD) that allows drivers to feel like they have teleported into the future. You can utilize your turn-by-turn navigation, make calls, and use smartphone apps, all without taking your eyes off the road. The Navdy display mounts on top of the driver’s side dashboard and will wireless sync with your phone to project an image on a 5.1 inch transparent display; giving the illusion that the information is floating out in front of you allowing you to see it, without the need to adjust your focus, or take your eyes off the road.

How Navdy works (in case video isn’t your thing)
You can control all commands, from navigation to text messaging, with your voice and gestures. Swipe your hand left in front of the device to answer a call, or right to dismiss an untimely notification. No more looking down to fumble with knobs, buttons, or touch screens. You can also ask Navdy to compose a new Tweet, write a new text, or call any of your contacts using voice commands just like Google Voice or Siri.
Any notification on your phone can be displayed, read aloud, or disabled entirely, allowing you to decide what you see and when you see it. There are also parental controls to keep your teenagers safe. This projected head-up display is similar to what commercial airline pilots use when they are landing. Navdy works with your iPhone or Android phone and will extend all the apps you already have on your phone with no additional service plan required.
Navdy comes with a flexible mount that can be adjusted to conform to the shape of your dash. The portable “friction mount” features a non-skid silicone bottom that is specifically designed to not leave marks on your dashboard. If you decide to remove the mount, it will leave no permanent marks, yet while driving it will stay firmly mounted.
