Five fresh, fun Instagram videos to inspire your own social marketing efforts

The newest in Instagram

Instagram is a social media tool that brands cannot afford to neglect in this day and age. It’s kind of cool to see companies start to create Instagram and Vine videos in order to connect with their audiences, and econsultancy.com put together a short list of a few notable clips from last month, and some of them were pretty impressive, let’s take a look:

1. GoPro, of course

Everyone knows GoPro ads are always depicting something insane. Some daredevil base jumping off of Mount Doom or doing a quadruple backflip on a Kawasaki motorbike, risking death for the thrill alone. Luckily for us, P.O.V. shots like this dude snowboarding give us enough of a taste of the wild life to have our heart briefly beat out of our chest and scare us straight.

2. Red Bull lives on the edge

Red Bull is another one of those brands that tends to embody the “living on the edge” lifestyle. Although I can’t say I’m a huge fan of energy drinks myself, if they can help me do any of the things this snowboarder can, I might give that little silver can another try. Being fearless and pushing the limits is sort of Red Bull’s M.O.

3. Ford’s easy, creative approach

Ford actually took a really cool take in their approach to their video that made the list. Although it probably took next to no work on their part other than rifling through a bunch of hashtagged photos, it’s an interesting idea to highlight real Instagram users and display their handles. That is an ingenious way to incentivize posting more car photos and tagging Ford all the while.

4. OMG OREOS

As if I needed another reason to grow weak at the knees at the mere mention of sweets, the Oreo gang decided to release a red velvet version of their classic cookie. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, their video features a stop-motion style that is perfect for short form ads. When brands equate junk food to love, they’re just reminding us what the holiday is really about.

5. Nike’s big fat budget

Nike seems to have an unrivaled budget and a few bright minds behind their marketing campaigns. An LED shoebox bigger than your apartment might attract a bit of attention. Plus, time lapses are a good way to cram a huge amount of content into a 15 second slot.

I look forward to watching brands grow in their use of social media. It seems like most everyone is catching on, but I’m sure the game will continue to change with time. If your brand isn’t utilizing these channels, get with the program!
