FolderBoy to the rescue – get your tasks organized in a snap

FolderBoy to the rescue

There are endless To Do list managers available on the market today ranging from web based tools to smartphone apps, but most create more work than you started out with, are cumbersome, or simply don’t organize thoughts the way your brain does. FolderBoy was developed to allow you to “record ideas, collaborate on tasks, and unscramble your workflow.”

An intuitive approach to getting your tasks organized acknowledges that your brain does not work in a linear checklist, rather branches out like a tree, but even the tree analogy as seen above is oversimplified and our brains work in a much more detailed, three-dimensional way when organizing tasks.

Three implications for real estate use:

  1. Using FolderBoy to implement your real estate practice checklists like your buyer’s checklist, escrow checklist, etc. for each client. It is a collaborative tool, so others can work on your list as well.
  2. Using it exclusively for social media marketing could keep this monstrous task on track. “Tweet 10 times per day” will not suffice and you know it is unrealistic, but “respond to all tweets,” “search for email of person that tweeted you about buying in Montrose in case DM doesn’t work,” “tweet a stat about your newest team member,” and the like are better because your brain doesn’t register these tasks as “go tweet” but as ultra specific tasks within the broader task of tweeting. Be a better lead generator by being specific here.
  3. Collaborating as a team could be simplified with this tool and a large team can feel much smaller with a central operation. Collaborating prior to a conference could also be helpful for organizers, as events tend to have tasks fall through the cracks.
