For The Joy of It

More than two years ago I started a mobile blog, jsut for fun. I guess the best way to describe it on the about page:

“An experiment really. The places I go the things I see via camera phone, with real time posts to the internet via MMS. Kind of like watching paint dry except slower”

The blog is on the free blogger platform, and I use MMS, short for Multimedia messaging service. The technology is similar to the SMS, (simple messaging service) that we use for text messaging. Posts can also be sent to the blog by email, or by going on the internet and creating a post the same way this post was created.  I almost never log into the blog. There really isn’t any need to.

Most cell phones with built in camera’s have MMS technology.  It is used for sending photos from one phone to another.  The beauty of it is that a Blackberry or iPhone are not needed for mobile blogging.  The process of sending a post is simple.  Take a photo with a phone and select send via MMS. Choose the address and send. The photo usually appears on the internet within seconds of the send.

My mobile blog is for fun but there are many ways a mobile blog could be used for business.  It could be about places to eat, or a town or a hobby. We are only limited by our imagination.  Mobile blogging is easier than photo blogging or traditional blogs with words because it doesn’t have to have many words on it and photo quality is not that important.  What makes mobile blogs interesting is what the photos are of and when they were taken.

All T All day has a small cult like following of friends and family and a waiter named Pavel. When I look at it I can see the places I went and the things that I did.  Some days I take several pictures and other days I don’t take any at all. It isn’t for business it it just for the joy of it.
