LG announces Optimus Pro, Optimus Net, no word on Optimus Prime

LG announcing new Android phones

LG is jumping aboard the QWERTY-keyboard Android train in bringing to market the Optimus Pro and Optimus Net, both of which will run Gingergread (Android 2.3).

Some believe this to be LG’s attempt to take RIM BlackBerry market share given the similarities that some suspect could draw CrackBerry users away from their beloved devices.

What is interesting however, is that although the word “Pro” is used, both of these phones are low to mid-range regarding features and don’t quite compete with the HTC EVO or an iPhone.

Pricing has not been released by LG on either device, but numbers have leaked, mostly in Europe where it is suspected the price is around 200 Euros which would put them at about the $299 mark in America.
