What is mobile BI?
Mobile Business Intelligence, also referred to as Mobile BI, refers to how business data is distributed to smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. It is a software that extends standard business intelligence apps so they can be used on a mobile device so workers in the field can better view key performance indicators optimized for a small screen (click here to learn more about mobile BI).
A recent TechTarget survey shows only 9 percent of companies currently use a mobile BI solution which is expected to mushroom to 48 percent in the next year which Domo.com agrees is overly ambitious, but representative of the idea that while currently not widely adopted, as mobile use becomes mainstream, it is more likely BI solutions will be in place for mobile in more companies across the globe.
Shawn Dickerson, Marketing Director of Domo said, “What’s not as well known, though, is that an investment in mobile BI also packs a measurable ROI in areas like productivity, engagement and decision-making speed.”
