Zillow to BlackBerry
Today, Zillow is announcing their new BlackBerry (BB) app that gives Realtors and consumers a viable search option for the often overlooked smartphone, claiming that with this release, they give 90% of smartphone users a dedicated real estate search option. Zillow released their iPad app the day iPads hit the market and were among the first to release their iPhone app, which are important but did not serve the large BlackBerry user demographic.
The new app allows BB users to see full screen photos and uses the GPS to locate nearby properties, making it useful in the field or while consumers are shopping. It offers the standard search filters, high resolution mapping and of course shows home listing and rental Zestimates via map. Supported devices include BlackBerry8100 through the BlackBerry9800 edition.
Nine home views per second
Zillow says that their mobile users log 23 million views of home details pages per month, which translates to nine home views per second.
“The addition of the BB to our lineup is exciting for the real estate industry, as well, because BB is the most popular smartphone among agents, according to the 2010 REALTOR Technology Survey Report,” said Katie Curnette, Sr. Public Relations Manager at Zillow.
