Extra screen real estate
App developer Avatron.com has launched the “Air Display” app that wirelessly turns any iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Mac into an extra monitor for desktops or laptops. Users can orient their Mac product any way they wish and Flash running on your laptop will show up on your iPad (or other Apple product).
“Air Display is perfect for times when you need more screen space, especially for graphics software like Photoshop, Office or iWork, or games that require more room than a 13” screen can provide,” said Dave
Howell, CEO of Avatron Software. “The app makes it incredibly easy to setup the iPad on a desk, at a coffee shop—wherever you need some extra workspace. You just launch the app and it’s ready to go.”
How it works
It works when both the laptop (or desktop) and the Apple product users wish to use as a second monitor has the app installed, as they communicate wirelessly. When the app is closed on the second monitor, the desktop or laptop goes back to single monitor mode.
According to Avatron, the app delivers high performance mouse capabilities “with a screen refresh rate of 150 frames per second
for no perceivable lag time in mouse performance.” Also regarding performance, they note that “compressed image quality and refresh speed are continually balanced to optimize viewing quality or speed of movement as needed.”
Air Display for iPad is available in the U.S. now for just $9.99 in the App Store. The Mac OS installer is free at www.avatron.com/ad.
Useful in real estate and beyond
The Air Display could be extremely useful in a real estate team environment, on listing appointments, conferences and the like. We suspect you’ll see this app used soon both at a conference expo floor vendor booth near you and in tech focused real estate offices across America.

Is there nothing this wonderous device can not accomplish? I love my iPad and think that every Real Estate Agent should have one. Thanks for the great tip on yet one more way the iPad can be of service.
