Haptime.in time tracking app offers new twist: happiness tracking

Haptime.in time tracks without timers

Freelancers are always looking for better ways to keep track of their time. When you work for multiple clients, you want to make sure you’re getting a good return on your money. You may even be paid by the hour, so it’s imperative that you track your time. Haptime.in is a new app that advertises it can “track your time with no timers” and that it is the first one to track your happiness.

Haptime essentially replaces your spreadsheet. Every day, it sends you a reminder to input your time. You go to their website, which is accessible through your phone or laptop, and enter the data. It is a web-based app, not a downloadable app. Once you’re in the system, you enter the hours you spent on a project. It also asks you how happy you were while you working on that project. Ultimately, the goal is to help you choose your clients wisely, so that your work is more enjoyable. Haptime takes the information you enter and gives you weekly and monthly reports.

There is a fee for Haptime. Currently, it has three plans. The Freelance Plan is for 1 user and includes daily reminders, reports, and full statistics. It costs $3/month, but you pay annually. The Small Plan is only $2/month, payable annually, and only gives you the full stats. You can request a free 10 day trial. The owner/developer is very prompt to reply and the instructions are very well done. It is a very easy app to set-up and use.

The big challenge

The big problem that I see with Haptime is that I still have to track my time each day. There are other apps that allow me to clock in and out with different clients. At the end of the month, I have the option of sending them invoices through the app. If you aren’t using any method, Haptime would be a great way to start getting in the habit of marking down your time.

If you’re struggling in your work with enjoyment, it would be very beneficial for you to see which projects make you happy. However, I believe that there are more efficient apps if you work with many different clients and need more accuracy and features.
