Hilarious bra ad makes a very memorable point

Making a lasting impression

Wacoal has created a new push-up bra that clams to enhance a woman’s cleavage by boosting her bra cup by two sizes. The Thailand ad featuring the “Wacoal Mood Boost-Up” accurately conveys just how effective it can be to the person wearing the bra.

With its soft hues, windblown hair, flirtatious eyes, and sexily unbuttoned shirt, the ad entices the viewer. When watching the video, you see the woman slowly begin to undress while listening to a simple yet tantalizing tune about a “wild girl.”

With lingering eye contact, the shirt comes completely off, the bra gets unclasped, music stops and we get a full-on view of the nipples… of a man.

Wait, what?!

Yes. A man. A beautiful man. But a man, nonetheless.

Man, are they illustrating a point or what?! Why yes, I do believe that this Mood Boost-Up bra can increase my bust size by two cups, how could I not? If these bras can work for a no-breasted man, it can work for a flat-chested woman.

This Wacoal ad is similar in composition to the Dutch Hema ads which featured pictures of androgynous supermodel Andrej Pejic sporting a similar push-up bra. Both involve the shock-factor which can be extremely effective when used in advertising.

Yet, this Wacoal ad goes a step further with it being a video of a sexy (wo)man undressing before our very eyes. We get hooked. The music entices us. Again… the hair, eyes, the undressing. It’s alluring and holds our attention. And then we get that shock of the revelation at the end.

It’s a memorable ad, and with over 6.6 million views on YouTube, it is doing the job exceptionally well.
