No, even with this news that most real estate professionals will applaud, he has a warning.

Dr. Yun notes that the market conditions have created unhealthy prices that are rising at an unsustainable pace.

“Housing affordability remains a pressing issue with home-price growth increasing around four times the pace of wages,” adds Yun. “Without meaningful gains in new and existing supply, there’s no question the goalpost will move further away for many renters wanting to become homeowners.”

PHSI looks good in the NE, but fell in the South

In the Northeast, the PHSI rose 6.3 percent for the month, and 10.6 percent above May 2014.

The index in the West improved 2.2 percent in May, marking a 13.0 percent increase over the year.

The Midwest saw a monthly decline of 06. percent, but remains 7.8 percent above a year ago.

In the South, pending home sales dipped 0.8 percent, but are 10.6 percent above May 2014.

In all regions, pending home sales are up substantially compared to last year, but not all areas improved in this most recent report.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[313,91
99,100,316,592
post-4131","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-economics","category-big-data","tag-breaking-news","tag-hot-stories","tag-pending-home-sales","tag-phsi
["GET
