Let\u2019s face it, most of us hate voicemail. In the tech era, it seems like such an outmoded form of communication. From texts, to emails, to social media, to messaging apps, these days we have a plethora of other options to reach someone.<\/p>\n

Today, you can deactivate your voicemail but you have to go through the hassle of calling your carrier and explaining you don\u2019t want the service. When voicemail is turned off at the carrier level, some carriers just hang up the call when it should go to voicemail and some play a message that voicemail isn’t enabled. Neither of these options are a great experience for those trying to reach you.<\/p>\n

No More Voicemail offers a different solution<\/a>. Created by TelTech Systems, the app aims to eliminate voicemails entirely.<\/p>\n

It does so by forwarding your calls to a phone number that continues to ring and ring until the caller hangs up.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

You\u2019re able to pick up calls normally. Only ignored or unanswered calls get sent to No More Voicemail\u2019s endless ringing. These are the same calls that would usually get sent to your voicemail.<\/p>\n

If it’s important, they will text you<\/h2>\n

Nate Kapitanski, TelTech\u2019s partner on Special Projects, explained, \u201cWe think voicemail is a thing of the past and that it just makes life a little easier to never have to worry about checking and returning voicemails. If it\u2019s important, people will text you or message you on one of the various messaging apps.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a concept, voicemail just doesn\u2019t have a place in today\u2019s world. Even companies are ditching the service. Both JP Morgan and Coca-Cola have done away with voicemail.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This trend is likely to continue. As we enter the new age of mobile device usage, shifting to texts, emails, or other messaging options may just be a part of doing business.<\/p>\n

Supported by all major carriers<\/h2>\n

The voicemail app is available for both iOS and Android devices, and is supported on all the major carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular. You can download it for free from the iTunes App Store<\/a> and Google Play.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Disable at any time<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s fairly easy to set up No More Voicemail. While directions are slightly different between iPhone and Android, the idea is the same. Once you\u2019ve downloaded and launched the app, you\u2019ll enter in your email address. From there, on-screen instructions will guide you through the process. You\u2019ll also be provided a phone number you\u2019ll need to call to activate the call forwarding. If you don\u2019t like the service, there\u2019s an option to disable it at any time within the app.<\/p>\n
