How Do You Appreciate The REnet?

What do you have to gain by being active online? Think about it for a moment. What are you hoping for when you tweet valuable insights, cool links, or just plain ol’ snarky stuff? What about when you peck away at your keyboard crafting new blog posts?

If you’re active online, you spend a lot of time doing these things so you’re hoping for something in return. It could be any number of reasons but…

I know I’m not off-mark when I say that if someone re-tweeted your tweets, commented on your blog, stumbled your site with StumbleUpon, submitted your post to Digg, or shared your work on Friendfeed you’d feel good about it.

So here’s the deal: you work hard on your contributions to the REnet so take a moment to give some love and recognize others that share the same passion. They’ll appreciate it.

Recognizing your fellow REnet members is easy:

  • Comment and guest post on their blog
  • StumbleUpon their blog posts
  • Vote their posts on social news sites
  • Tweet their posts to your followers
  • Review something they’ve posted about or are offering
  • Friend them on your social media sites
  • Provide constructive suggestions or tips (keyword is constructive)
  • Provide a testimonial for them on LinkedIn
  • Contact them directly (phone or skype) with a word of thanks

What we all can use is a little more knowledge that what we’re putting out into the community is seen, appreciated, and valuable.

How do you show others appreciation for their contributions?
