It’s not pretty, but it works
Search for Google Plus is a Google Chrome extension, Android App and Firefox or Internet Explorer that fills in one of Google’s current gaps by allowing you to search Google+ posts, profiles, and buzz for any term. Currently, if users search on Google+, they are taken to Web search or are only able to search users by name or email.
Search for Google Plus has received mostly positive reviews despite being loaded with ads that look just like the search results and it is difficult to navigate, but once you see past all of the ads and the ugliness, it can be helpful to connect with new users. The service does not offer the equivalent to Google Alerts, so searches may or may not be timely depending on what you’re searching for. There is also no advanced search, so you can’t refine by location or profession, but it is a good starting point if you’re looking for fellow Realtors or to connect with locals.
This tool is helpful in the interim as Google develops their own search mechanism, which they ultimately will (and why wouldn’t they, they are a search company). But for now, if you want to search for “New York Realtor” or “Seattle Investor,” this is the fastest hack.
