KeyLemon: using a face and voice as a computer password

KeyLemon adds security to your system

KeyLemon wants to take advantage of the newest trends in technology: embedded cameras and microphones. Using these two technologies, any standard webcam and microphone will do, you can use facial or voice recognition (biometrics) in lieu of alphanumeric passwords. They aim to use biometrics to make it easier for users to log in to their devices without the need for multiple, or complex passwords. This means no more remembering your Facebook, Twitter, and email passwords, and no more resetting them when your forget your log-in credentials.

With a few other companies developing and offering biometric technology, KeyLemon separates themselves from the competition by forging deals with lead companies. One of these is Fujitsu, who uses KeyLemon’s technology in their new line of desktop PCs.

Dieter Heiss, Vice President Workplace Systems at Fujitsu Technology Solutions writes, “we know that companies are faced with access management problems. Employees are expected to remember multiple passwords with increasingly stronger password policies.”

So not only does this save time, but also it could increase time management, by eliminating the need to remember and change multiple passwords; using KeyLemon allows you to secure your sites with biometrics, allowing you to focus on other aspects of security.

Two KeyLemon solutions:

KeyLemon offers two solutions: KeyLemon Cloud and SDK. The KeyLemonSDK integrates face/voice recognition technology into major operating systems. Currently, it is used in verticals and sectors like healthcare, education, law enforcement, time and attendance, offering added security to their operations.

Since biometric technology is already in high demand and getting more popular every day, KeyLemonSDK offers a quick and easy solution for businesses wanting to keep up with the biometric technology trends. KeyLemon Cloud lets you integrate with any web application, giving you face detection, analysis, recognition, and creation. Upcoming features will include: gender, speaker recognition, head-pose, and facial features. It also offers complete documentation and wrappers libraries to help you develop an application, quickly and simply.

KeyLemon is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8, as well, as Mac, Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion. The site also states it is compatible with any web cam, whether it is integrated or external. Sign up is free and definitely worth a look.
