Rise of the infographic
Although most infographics floating around online today are more info than graphic, the use of documenting work efforts and client portfolios into a visually appealing format is no longer just for the exclusive use of graphic designers, no, Kinzaa has made infographic resumes available to all with just a few minutes of data entry.
Upon arrival to the site, registrants can choose between registering via email or through Facebook. We opted for email registration as one of the Facebook permissions was that the company could post on our walls as us, so we passed.
After confirming over email instantly and clicking a simple LinkedIn button, a user’s information immediately populates the input fields and simply requires a few details to be completed, mostly regarding responsibilities. Sliders are used to indicate preferences and responsibilities so that a chart can be generated based on user input as to how heavily (or little) their skills apply to each job.
Users can upload a profile picture, add a synopsis paragraph at the top and even embed a video greeting. A unique URL is generated for each infographic resume that can be shared across social networks or simply added as a link to an existing resume, website or social media bio.
Kinzaa is useful not just for job seekers but for professionals that are service providers to emphasize skills over social media popularity (a rising consumer demand). The company’s goal was to help job seekers stand out in the crowd, but to us, it appears that they have accomplished so much more.
