Let Larynxbot summarize anything that’s TL;DR

For the content crushers

Here’s another way for you news junkies to streamline your intake of internet content: LarynxBot.

The bot was developed by south Indian startup Timebender Technologies, who develop time-saving tools for busy professionals. They wanted to create a shortcut allowing you to get more information faster, as well as review articles to discern whether or not you’ll want to take the time to read them later.

Get a summary, move on

Larynxbot, so named for the strips of muscle also known as the vocal cords, is a speaking bot that offers voice summaries of articles online. Using “advanced natural language processing techniques” and a “patent-pending voice technology,” larynxBot can read an article for you and then paraphrase the crucial information.

When you find an article that seems destined to be a TL;DR, larynxBot sums up the content before you commit to reading the whole article.

LarynxBot even speaks thirty languages.

LarynxBot is integrated with Facebook Messenger. When you find an article you’d like summarized, you simply pass the link to @larynxBot to get a real time summary spoken to you. You can use your own voice to record a summary of an article you’d like to send to someone else. Twitter, Telegram, and Slack are all larynxBot compatible as well.

Some sweet IFTTT recipes

When combined with IFTTT, you can program larynxBot to interact with your other apps and save you time. Rather than clicking every link on your Facebook Newsfeed, let larynxBot sum it up for you. Whenever you send someone an article on Slack, send a larynxBot summary with it.

It seems like larynxBot could also help drivers keep their hands on the wheel by having the news read to them, rather than having their eyes glued to the screen.

The app is available for free on Android or iOS.
