Anonymous and unique email addresses
The biggest advantage of Throttle is that when you install the Throttle browser extension, you never have to give your real email address to a website again.
The extension generates a unique email address for email submission forms.
The ability to provide random anonymous emails when signing up to forms with your extension – and have them all go into one inbox – is one of its most important key features. Throttle also adds a layer of protection since your real email address isn’t exposed.
According to a press release, Throttle says, “It works with a browser extension that automatically adds a button to all email form fields online. When making a purchase, for example, you hit the button instead of entering in your real email address. The extension fills out the field with a unique, random email address. All email Throttle receives for you is collected and sent to you in a single daily digest email.”
One and done
Your emails are then compiled into a single daily digest that is sent to you at a time you choose. When you get your digest, just click on the message you want to read and Throttle will take you to your dashboard. You can then read the message there or forward it to your real email address if you want to. Throttle also lets you set up customizable categories to sort emails and set up different digests depending on the category. This improves workflow because it reduces interruptions and you don’t have to remember to check somewhere else for the messages.
Another advantage of Throttle is that you never have to deal with an unsubscribe process again. If you ever want to revoke a sender’s address to your email box, you can do it with a single click.
You can also tell when senders sell your email address and immediately cut off their access to your inbox.
