New Way To Network?

You Need A Blog

So I’m talking to Donna, a friend I met while networking.  “How’s it going?”  “Not great.”  I say, “You’ve got to come up with the next Pet Rock.”  “I did.  But I can’t do it by myself.”  “You need a blog.”  “How do I do that?” Here we go…

Cowboy Up

I have a tendency to get roped into things – whether I actually volunteer or not, I’m not really sure.  But I “volunteer” to teach a class about creating profiles for a networking group I belong to.  The class starts to turn into an introduction to social networking.  We start talking about flickr.  I say, “Everybody knows what flickr is.”    “Ah, no they don’t.”  After a few yes-they-do and no-they-don’ts, I give up.  And by the end, they’ve got me promising to teach classes on that too.  Apparently everybody doesn’t know about flickr.  They don’t know how to get LinkedIn, on Twitter, into Facebook, or MeetUp either.  Hmm.

You’re An Expert

If you’re reading this, you likely have a blog and are out there twittering your tweets – which to many makes you an expert.

Hang Out Your Shingle

Tough market, right?  Out there networking like a madman or woman?  What about having them come to you? I’m not talking about making it your full-time job, but lending a hand by teaching social networking ain’t a bad way to meet some people.

You know how to market.  How to connect.  How to network.  Teach somebody else how to do it and become their go-to person for real estate too.
