Lists = love
If you ask anyone who knows me, they would be able to tell you how much I love to make lists. To-do lists, shopping lists, lists of my favorite things. I even make lists about lists.
I’m not sure if it is the love of pen meeting paper or the illusion that I’m being productive by making a list, but I have journals full of organized words. But, does this really help me stay on track?
Ultimately, I’d like to say yes. The planner I use daily has a calendar and a section for a to-do list everyday, so whenever I have a deadline or an event, I immediately add it to a list.
Lists + Motivation = Outplanr
While I could be the most organized person on earth, that does not mean that I have the motivation to actually check off these listed items. The new tool, Outplanr, is working to bridge the gap between organization and motivation, specifically for teamwork.
Outplanr operates as a task and resource manager, working to mold your lists into work plans. It works in real-time as a way to show you what your team is doing.
How it works…
There is a calendar tool that turns tasks into feasible work plans, and includes time spent on meetings. The platform is visually pleasing with the aforementioned calendar, and there are interactive to-do lists that allow you to visualize each person’s workload. With this knowledge, you can simply assign new tasks across all projects in one go.
Live-tracking is available to give you insight into team status. While following your team’s task progress in real-time, you can get a team overview of accomplishments at any time.
In addition, Outplanr keeps track of how much time is spent on each task. This way, you are able to run that time against your estimates.
Recognizing the importance of work-life balance
Along with making team tasks more manageable, Outplanr promotes work-life balance. Users receive an email each morning with the day’s tasks, which can be divided by subtasks, files, and team discussions.
The work-life balance aspect is an attempt to alleviate workplace burnout. Outplanr is currently in-beta, with subscriptions to beta-invites available on their site. Now, take a note from Outplanr to plan, track, and relax…
