Party Party app, hooray!!
With a name like Party Party, the new iOS app from Beautiful Mess is bound to be a good time. Party Party allows you to make looping stop motion animations on your phone. The animations are perfect for posting on Instagram, and can be converted into a .gif file for posting on your website, blog, or Tumblr. And who doesn’t love a good .gif?
Here’s how it works: First, simply select if you’d like to take 1, 4, 6, 9, or 16 photos. The app is set up to take all of the photo automatically, with one second of time between each photo. However, you can also change the settings to give yourself more time between shots, or you can manually take each picture yourself. The self-timed version includes an auditory countdown, so make sure you have the sound turned up so you know just when to say cheese.
The photos are then pieced together into a stop motion animation, and you can adjust the speed to your liking. In addition, you can also post and print photos in a square collage or in the classic photo booth style strip. You can frame your photos with designs inspired by vintage film, you can edit with 17 different filters (with intriguing names like “Brooklyn” or “Edison”), and you can manually adjust the brightness and contrast.
The only holdup? Android
There are still a couple of bugs to work out with the app. Beautiful Mess says they failed to recoup their investment when they tested the app for Android, so unfortunately the app is only available for iOS, but they will consider Android for the future. Also, because the app is still populating, it might not show up in a search. If you have trouble finding it, look for the Beautiful Mess app and click “related,” or search for “Red Velvet Art LLC.”
While Party Party seems like a great way to capture fun moments, it could also be used by businesses for marketing. Why not make a simple stop motion animation of your latest product in action? A moving .gif on your company website is sure to catch your customer’s eye and demonstrate a product or service.
