Posterous’ growth
Since the launch of Posterous, we have reported on their easy to use mobile apps, browser extensions, domain registration directly from their blogging back end, exporting options that took aim directly at Active Rain, simple newsletter options built in, private and public groups allowing control over sharing and more.
Posterous is now announcing the evolution of their blogging platform and group sharing into a full fledged social network as demonstrated in the video above. It seems like a natural shift that takes advantage of their existing technologies and solves the problem of complicated sharing on Facebook and the inability to control site design and how sharing is delivered on platforms like Facebook.
Posterous Spaces has great potential for the business world, especially for those managing others or managing multiple groups simultaneously (as in a handful of clients). Privacy is an option, and the delivery is slick, so while Posterous Spaces won’t replace Facebook, we see it as a viable option for businesses to communicate efficiently internally, and for virtual teams to grow, especially since it is a free tool.
