Priveyo: build your own private social network

Priveyo – your own social network

Have you ever accidentally shared something on Facebook that was not meant for everyone to see? It happens. And you cannot do anything about it; all you can do is adjust your privacy settings and hope it does not happen again. But, Priveyo has introduced a private social networking site that prevents these accidents from happening. It is like having your own private Facebook or Twitter. You can create individual groups, called “priv-ys.” Each priv-y is private, allowing you to share only what you want, with who you want.

You share one to one, one to some, or one to all, based on your priv-y settings; public will allow any Priveyo member to search for and join your group; protected enables members to search for you, but they will need a password to access it and private groups are not searchable; you will have to invite all desired members.

You control the privacy for each priv-y making them private, discreet, and secure. For example, you could create a custom priv-y to address only managers. This would give you the freedom to share policies, problems, and updates, without anyone else on the team seeing the information. You can then create another priv-y for suggestions and include the entire team. One organization/business/user can have multiple priv-ys.

Sign up is simple, network is customizable

Sign up is quick and you can immediately begin inviting contacts from Facebook, contact list, or email. You can also skip this step. Once you have invited friends, you can create a priv-y. Enter a title, category (twenty eight to choose from), privacy settings (public/private/protected), and a brief description on what your priv-y is about, and you are ready to start connecting. You can also personalize your priv-y with photos and logos.

The interface is simple, clean, and very easy to use. I tried it out with the iOS app and you simply swipe right to access your dashboard which helps you manage your priv-ys and invitations. Swiping left gives you access to your messages, alerts, and requests. You can also sync your priv-ys with your calendar making it easy to keep track of what is going on and when, within your different groups.

Priveyo is available free in the App Store and Google Play, however, to access more advanced features, you will need to pay for a subscription. Advanced features include: management tools, ad removal, advertising control, admin support, and more. Depending on the number of members in your group pricing varies: 0-250 members (gold level) is $39.95 per month, or 251-2,000 members (platinum level), is $129.95 per month. The free account will give you basic access to priv-ys and sharing capabilities; definitely worth a look.
