Gmail of the future
One of the great features of Gmail is that the community of web developers never sleeps and is always looking for ways to improve the Gmail experience through free browser extensions as a means of helping adoption rates, especially for business users as the stigma around not using a corporate email account has faded, particularly in light of mobile devices running most of our businesses these days.
One of Gmail’s missing features is being able to delay emails and send them at a later date or time, but Right Inbox enables users to schedule emails to be sent later from Gmail. It is very easy to use after a small browser extension is installed. A button with the label “Send Later” is added right next to the original “Send” button in Gmail and is integrated seamlessly. One of the most appealing features is that Right Inbox offers time zone support for those working with clients across the nation or even the globe.
Plans for the future
The company tells AGBeat that they are also in progress of adding more features like response tracking, improvements for sending large files, finding bulky attachments, email marketing etc. The extension is currently supported by Google Chrome 5.0+ and Firefox 3.6+.
The simple ability to schedule emails is not only helpful for when you are on a different coast than your customer, but also helpful for emailing reminders to yourself, which we suspect will be a common use for the service (“self, email yourself in four hours to call Jeff about your referral,” “self, email yourself tomorrow morning to remember that you need to leave early to get to your meeting on the south side”).
