NY mall becomes scene of arrest for record exec

Kiddo singing sensation, Justin Bieber was set to sign copies of his new album in a New York mall when the crowd of screaming teen girls when unprepared officers fearing the insane fans would become too “unruly,” demanded that a senior Vice President of Island Def Jam Records (Bieber’s label) to intervene.

What did they ask the executive to do to calm the fans enough that Bieber could enter the building? Did they ask him to bring in more security staff? Did they command that he get on a loudspeaker and ask them to back up and calm down? Nope.

They asked him to tweet. Seriously, they asked him to tweet to control the crowd (as if a mob of screaming girls are paying attention to Twitter). When he did not (as surely he thought that an insane way to control a crowd of kids hyped up on adrenaline and pixie stix), he was arrested for “criminal nuisance, endangering the welfare of a minor and obstructing administration,” according to cnet.

Statesman Technology Culture Reporter, Omar Gallaga said, “boy, social media seems to be changing everything, even what we think we can legally demand others do. It’s an unusual case, but we’re seeing more and more unusual stories like this pop up as Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites keep getting more popular.”
