Sharing platform for scientists could change the world

Close your eyes and picture a scientist

When one conjures an image of “scientist” in their mind, they often picture someone in a white lab coat attempting some brilliant experiment. What may be a more accurate depiction is someone pouring over hours and hours of research in order to take their idea a step further.

The issue that many people in any scientifically based industry face is that information is incredibly scattered. As a result, communication becomes difficult as innovation becomes isolated.

Kynplex for communication

Now, there is a platform available for scientists to bridge the gap in sharing scientific information. Kynplex has been built to connect the scientific world.

Co-founders Grace Xiao and Raul Jordan worked together to create a place for increased collaboration in scientific research. The idea is to put all varieties of information in one, condensed place.

The hypothesis

“Our vision for Kynplex is to forge global infrastructure for scientific communication, enabling international and cross-disciplinary collaborations so that more research ideas can become life-saving applications,” said Xiao.

Kynplex, designed simply with a visual interface, offers different categories of research, including: immunology, cell biology, and neurobiology – just to name a few. Users are able to develop different labs of research that others can follow.

Build your scientific network

The overall idea of the website is for one to expand their scientific network. This is possible through: featuring scientific updates, identifying and forming connections, increasing personal opportunities, and staying informed about one’s field of interest.

With updates, Kynplex provides a channel of communication for scientific users in fields of academics, industry, and funding organizations to feature new projects and initiatives.

Connections are formed as targeted searches are available for users to find specific expertise and join new hubs of innovation, while building on their existing networks.

Increase visibility and stay informed

Every user has their own personal profile that is linked with their company or lab. This is where Kynplex becomes a scientific LinkedIn, as updating one’s profile and information increases their individual visibility and impact.

Finally, users can stay informed about their field by following research topics and keeping track of recent trends. These trends include: latest research projects, products, and partnerships.

Xiao and Jordan have recently been awarded the Thiel Fellowship and dropped out of Harvard in order to pursue Kynplex full-time. “We’re preparing to launch exciting features that will connect scientific clusters worldwide and establish Kynplex as the central platform to discover scientific initiatives and breakthroughs,” said Xiao.
