Social media marketing and analytics for your small business

Get better at growing your online business

Does your business do a lot of marketing or trading online? If so, you’ve probably spent some time trying to figure out how much site traffic you are getting, how to boost views of your posts, and what items customers are buying online most – in short, you need to know how whether or not you are successfully reaching your customers online.

A very comprehensive website, SumAll, offers a one-stop shop for online marketing and social media analytics for digital marketers and small businesses. SumAll’s mission to “unlock and democratize data for everyone” is particularly targeted to small business owners. As the name implies, SumAll summarizes all of the data from every online platform you use to market your business.

Rather than separately checking out your stats from, for example, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, you can get “in depth reports” for all of them at once. A daily digest offers a summary and analysis of all of your online activity for the day, so you can keep up to date on what is working and what isn’t. You can also view weekly reports or an overall history of your business. Full reports are available online, or an abridged version can be checked throughout the day on a mobile app.

A comprehensive look at your performance

SumAll supports 48 platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Bing, Google, Constant Contact, MailChimp, Instagram, Tumblr, Square, Ebay, and Paypal. It analyzes which social media posts are the most popular, which sites generate the most traffic, overall “fan behavior,” which ads your customers are clicking or which emails they are opening, what customers are buying in your online store, and more.

According to Sumall, over 32,000 individuals and small businesses are using the site, as well as some big corporations like Starbucks, HBO, and Walmart.

Some of it is free, some is paid

Sumall’s services are available free of charge, although you can pay for a premium account which gets you custom alerts on your cell phone for important social media events, as well as access to a 24/7 online or phone customer service line. Your account comes with some fun perks, like automatic weekly thank you notes for your top Twitter followers, a helpful digital marketing blog, and some free downloadable fonts, icons, and marketing images.

Perhaps SumAll understands the needs of small businesses because it is a small company itself, operating with only 32 employees. The company calls itself a “flat organization with no functional hierarchy.” There are no leaders at SumAll and the entire staff makes decisions together democratically by majority rule. Best of all, SumAll gives 10 percent of its earnings to nonprofit foundations.

Overall, SumAll seems like a great company in and of itself, while offering a free service that could be a huge benefit to other small businesses looking to better understand the impact of their online marketing.
