Google+ Recommendations by industry
RecommendedUsers.com is the newly launched recommendation engine for Google+ users and while it is not affiliated with Google+ and is completely unofficial, it is drop dead gorgeous and super simple to use. The site offers lists of users based on interests ranging from photographers, writers, designers, to LGBT.
Most interests can be narrowed down, so photographers are separated out by inspirational photographers, wedding, commercial, etc. Clicking on a user’s profile photo will take you to their Google+ profile for more details and you can add them to your Google+ circles from there.
The site is great for expanding your horizons and connecting with people with similar interests or branching out into new interests or hobbies. It’s a natural way to connect. As of right now, the site appears to feature the top users in any categories, so the downside may be connecting with someone who may not be highly responsive as they are high profile, but the upside is that users might actually forge connections with these influencers.
