Homes.com and real estate traffic
Late last year, the size wars heated up showing the difference between the network sizes of Move, Inc., Zillow and Trulia but not included in the list of the big three was Homes.com (who is partnered with ForRent.com).
According to Homes.com, they may not be the biggest, but based on their analysis of March 2011 Hitwise data, it claims that barring search engines, it provided more referral traffic to remax.com, century21.com, coldwellbanker.com and era.com than any other site and claims in some cases, like era.com, they are ahead of Bing and even Yahoo! Search for providing traffic.
Time on site
Homes.com also boasts that they have the highest time on site of any real estate search company.
“The recent statistics from Hitwise validate that Homes.com is attracting a higher quality consumer than our competitors,” said Jason Doyle, vice-president of Homes.com. Doyle added, “Our visitors are clearly more engaged and serious about making a home purchase, and that is ultimately where the rubber hits the road with our partners. This type of divergent data should emphasize for advertisers the importance of making investment decisions based on real results rather than which site has the most visitors.”
Hitwise was not immediately available for comment.
