LinkedIn is growing
During LinkedIn’s third quarter earnings call, LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner announced that the professional networking site has 131 million members and has grown by 15 million users in the last quarter alone and revenues rose 126 percent to nearly $140 million.
The site now boasts over one million groups and Weiner says users accessing LinkedIn through mobile devices is up 400% year over year and that mobile use makes up 13 percent of the site’s unique visits, a promising sign for the network. Another promising sign for the publicly traded company is a rise in Premium (paid) Subscribers which has more than doubled since last year and is growing “faster than overall membership.”
Weiner also noted that the LinkedIn Share button used on blogs and websites is getting clicked a lot more and is now featured on 180,000 domains (including this one), up 80 percent from the second quarter.
Additionally, over 40,000 developers are using the LinkedIn APIs which means more and more apps are being developed around the professional network, up 30 percent from the second quarter of this year.
