Mobile safety app for iTunes updated, partners with WinDS

New iPhone app

Recently, mobile safety app company Moby teamed up with the Michigan MLS and Iowa Association of Realtors as an offering to all of their members, marking a long line of associations (in and out of real estate) that have partnered with the company.

The new iPhone app updates include several new features like “Check In” and “Request Check” which pushes out notifications to your chosen contacts as to where you are or (and we think this feature is pretty neat) asks them where they are with messaging built in.

Imagine as a broker, you can know at a glance that all of your team is safe and if someone on showings hasn’t checked in for hours and it is customary for him or her to do so, a “Request Check” can be sent asking if they’re safe. The reason we like this better than standard texting is that through the app, it is all tied into their messaging system and because they offer a national security monitoring center, it seems that this record would be good for safety officials to have at a glance in case of an emergency.

The new “Friend Icon” actions make contacting individuals much more simple when doing a “Request Check,” sending a text or simply calling a contact. The new “Notification Log” keeps tabs on the last 25 events you have received so there’s no hunting and pecking for where people are or need to track everyone down, your contacts are listed in an organized fashion for a quick glance.

Partnering with WinDS

Moby has now partnered with the Association of Women in Default Services (WinDS) as a part of their safety program for members. At their conference this weekend in Las Vegas, WinDS will be launching safety education and sharing Moby with attendees.

This marks a long line of partnerships Moby has forged with industry groups in an effort to keep Realtors safe. There are other safety apps available, but we suspect the main reason for the rising popularity of Moby is that it isn’t a kid in a garage who randomly designed an app, it’s a legitimate company with national security monitoring and support that offers backing to their app (which is rare in the app world). It will be interesting to see what partnerships are coming up in the near future.

AG supporter Moby is a free app that alerts your chosen contacts via email and text when you tell the app you need assistance, has a one push emergency alert button, check in and tracking features with interactive maps seen only by your contacts. There are a lot of safety apps on the market, but most are simply an alarm button while the Moby app is actually connected to a national security monitoring center with integration of emergency services.
