Millions of mobile web users
Facebook boasts over 500 million users around the globe and today has announced that they have 250 mobile users per month, up 150% from this time last year. Although Google and Facebook are in a close race to capture your attention, Facebook is appealing to the average American household member with half of all users logging in via their mobile phone each month.
That is simply astounding! Privacy issues aside, Facebook cannot be ignored. Any Realtor sitting on the sideline wondering how to use the network might want to take a look at how people are using the network- we see people waiting in line at the grocery store filling that time with Facebook, at the mall walking around, at the salon Facebooking while in foils and even in gridlock traffic.
Why you should think about your site
The use of mobile phones and the rate at which smartphones are released to the market is astounding and simply cannot be ignored. Remember, as people use Facebook, they may click on links shared by friends- when the click on a link that goes to your website, what does it look like on a smartphone? Does it render like a 1994 Geocities site or is it optimized for touch screen? Maybe it’s time to reconsider your own website and blame it on Facebook?
