Taking the art world by storm
Graphic designer Dana Tamachi moved from Texas to Brooklyn to design Broadway show posters and has since become so well known for her custom chalk lettering that it is now her full time job. She has been commissioned by clients such as Oprah, Gwyneth Paltrow, West Elm (where she has a line of paperweights), Rugby Ralph Lauren, Google, The Ace Hotel, Adidas, EveryDay with Rachael Ray, Lululemon Athletica, and Garden & Gun Magazine.
The video above and several below demonstrate the depth of her skill and how detailed each creation is, and especially demonstrates why she is in such high demand. Her art is bringing back the vintage feel that is already being replicated by designers across the nation as seen on websites, print design and soon, you’ll see it in commercials. Wall graffiti has been popular for some time, indoors and out, and you’ve seen the commercials and videos with white board designs, but Tamachi’s art separates itself not only due to its beauty but its complexity.
You’ll see interior designers influenced by Tamachi and chalk art will be on loft walls any minute, logos will be loudly added in chalk to company walls or event venues. We’re such huge fans that if any conference or event hires Tanamachi to do custom chalk lettering, I would speak for free just to get the chance to watch her in action. Seriously.
