When taking a look at the offerings of Microsoft, Google, Yahoo and Apple, currently the four most prevalent technology companies, it is interesting to take a bird’s eye view as opposed to the micro view we take every day as we write about operating systems, mobile applications and social networks.

By taking a look at the chart below, you can see which companies are focused on what and the spaces in which they could potentially grow in the future. Benn has noted before that Apple lacks search and we’ve talked in the past about mergers between Microsoft and Yahoo that have failed but would have closed some of the gaps in each of their offerings, and we’ve all watched Google squeeze into every crawl space in the tech sector.
