Which tech careers will be most in demand in 2016?

You’ve got it made

Demand for specialized tech professionals constantly rises as businesses compete with each other to offer above-market pay, stock options, and flexible work schedules to the already low supply of skilled specialists. And because successfully fulfilling that demand remains an issue, there are a number of tech roles still waiting to be filled across various industries. Here are the roles that companies especially have their eye on:

Calling all Devs

Developersof all kinds: web, software and mobile app development – are in a high demand across industries. Companies are especially looking for those who have experience and skill with .NET, PHP and MySQL.

QA and Analysts

As companies evolve and launch new IT efforts, they need Business analysts and quality (QA) assurance professionals, to bridge the gap between technology initiatives and business users. QA professionals are valuable to companies because they use testing and assurance methods to make sure projects stay efficient and on track.

Engineers and Admins

Firms need Systems engineers and systems administrators, to manage the convergence of networking, systems and data. There’s a higher demand for those with SharePoint or Salesforce experience.

Companies are beginning to base major business decisions on data analytics. Database administrators and business intelligence analysts, are the specialized people who are well versed in managing and interpreting raw data for those decisions.

Help desk

Employers are looking to focus more on their support teams, and grown them large enough to sustain various business initiatives, such as mobility and “bring your own device” campaigns. Help desk and desktop support, not only helps those initiatives, but manages issues related to the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

Tech careers – stacks on stacks

If companies could occupy these hard-to-fill roles, I’m sure they would be happy, and depending on the industry, added technical skills could make them even happier. In North America especially, any experience with ASP, C#, Java, .NET, PHP, Virtualization skills, Python, Ruby on Rails, or Windows 7, is an added bonus.

Therefore, if you have any experience or background in the aforementioned roles or skills, take advantage of the awesome financial incentive and other perks, because companies are definitely looking for you!
