Timebird: schedule meetings without looking at your calendar

Timebird makes scheduling infinitely easier

There are plenty of apps on the market to help you manage your meetings more efficiently, but how many of them keep you from the hassle of comparing calendars, checking email, or scrolling through a seemingly endless conversation?

Timebird is an app allowing you to do just that. Eliminate the need to check Skype, Facebook, Email, SMS, and your calendars: Timebird manages all of this for you. It works with all major calendar providers, no matter how many calendars you use. You cannot see another person’s calendar, but Timebird shows you their available times, allowing you to quickly scroll through a list of dates that works for all of your meeting attendees.

You can create a meeting in less than one minute, without looking at calendars, or making sure everyone is available, once your accounts are connected to Timebird. Since the platform is just now accepting beta requests, the exact logistics of how it works are a bit unclear. To get a meeting started, enter the email addresses of those you need to attend, presumably from your contact list. Select a title for the meeting so your attendees will know what it is regarding. Choose the length and place of your meeting and then you will see a list of available dates that work for all your attendees at the selected time. Then, your meeting is scheduled.

Timebird is worth a look if for no other reason than the simplicity of scheduling meetings: it really has the potential to save a great deal of time. There are a few details I would like to see, however, that were not on the web site. For example, more information regarding security settings, exactly how you connect with Timebird and what information is sent across the platform, and how it pulls your scheduling information, especially as to if there is any chance it could miss a window of free time. After beta testing, I am sure these issues will be addressed and when they are Timebird could be a great tool for meeting management.
