Top 25 Cities With the Most Energy Efficient Buildings

Energy Star rated buildings

This week, the Environmental Protection Agency published their list of cities with the most Energy Star labeled buildings with the South accounting for 40% of the Top 10.

The EPA noted that all of the buildings that won the Energy Star rating last year saved on carbon dioxide emissions by more than 4.7 million metric tons and saved over $900 million.

Although the list is ranked by actual number of Energy Star ratings, giving large metro areas a natural advantage, the overall point is to show the progress in building trends and a move toward more energy efficient construction.
