Android app now on the market
TouchRetouch is a photo editing tool for Androids which features a “crystal clear image viewer” for any Android device, offers sharing of photos (edited or not) via social networks, a “powerful” clone stamp tool and a finger move hint. There are video tutorials built into the app to help you along the way, but what we are mostly excited about is how reminiscent this technology is to a very expensive Photoshop suite offering content aware fill where you outline an object to remove and it predicts the background, but the TouchRetouch app is only $0.99 for this sophisticated feature.
Many Realtors that take their own photos are moving toward the very powerful smartphones in their pockets, for example, an HTC EVO 4G which takes tremendously high resolution images but doesn’t come with sophisticated editing tools like TouchRetouch.
Why Realtors should have this tool in their toolbelt
We can imagine a whole host of reasons a real estate photo would need this app. Take for example a neighbor is mowing their lawn in your listing photo and you don’t have permission to use their image or likeness. Rather than approach a sweaty person busy on their lawn (and we all know a neighbor’s lawn can impact your listing, so don’t bother them), you can simply remove them.
Maybe you land a sweet listing and the clients have just signed the listing agreement. On the way out, you call your photographer and he’s coming in two days, but you want to take a quick snapshot to share with your social networks as a sneak peek. What if there is a heavy planter with a dead bush in the front yard that they will remove tomorrow? What if the corner of a car is in the way of the perfect shot? Or what if your clients think it’s weird you’re taking a picture and they’re standing in the window looking baffled? Open the TouchRetouch app, take the shot, and you can edit out any surprises.
For the conference junkies, we suspect this app will be popular because you can edit out a giant mug of beer before posting and tagging on Facebook. Alternatively, if you happen to be a broker standing in front of a giant logo of their competitor, it can disappear before they post to Twitter (we all know we don’t exactly want to promote our closest competitor). Also, there’s always a chance of someone walking into the shot last second and now you can simply remove them.
We haven’t had a chance to use the app extensively, so the quality is not verified by our staff, but if it works as promised, this could really be a useful app for dozens of reasons.
